The Trans Americas Expedition, run by Globebusters Motorcycles Expeditions, is the longest in the world and known as the 'Top of the World to the Bottom.'

It is a journey of epic proportions descending the Americas continent on the Pan American Highway. The journey starts from Anchorage in Alaska, goes North to Prudhoe Bay and finishes some 22,000 miles and 19 weeks later in Ushuaia, Patagonia. By the time this tour starts on 26th July 2009, I shall be 65.

The whole idea of the journey is to prove to myself and everyone else out there that it needn't be the end of the world to have a double hip replacement, I want to inspire others like me to get up, get out of the chair and go for it!

Why am I doing this? Well, 7 years ago this could only have been a dream, now I going to live it. I believe in fate, I have enjoyed six really good years of 100% health and fitness and now feel I want to give something back. This will be a really big thankyou to all those people who took part in helping me towards this goal.
